epoke saltspredning lommy flexpad

Epoke A/S is one of the world's leading manufacturers of machinery for combating slippery roads with a focus on large salt spreaders. The company's administration and production in Vejen employs approximately 150 people. The company is the largest supplier for the Danish market, but the vast majority of its production is exported to more than 25 countries in Europe, North America and Asia.

The salt spreaders are operated remotely, typically via Epoke's advanced, proprietary control unit, EpoMaster X1, where GPS-controlled spreading is an option.

Lommy FlexPad
"We have chosen Lommy FlexPad as a navigation component in the GPS control", says Development Manager Klaus Kjær Hansen, and continues: "It is a flexible display device that communicates wirelessly via FlexTrack Lommy. With the screen and the Lommy device, the spreaders are on-line, and it offers many additional possibilities - besides navigation - for the owners of the spreaders and for the driver. Two-way communication between the spreader and, for example, the hauler is one of the obvious features that provide additional flexibility with quick route changes and safety for the driver, for example, in the event of a breakdown. At the same time, the hauler can link many other options to the system, without having to go and invest in an additional terminal."

A major reason that Epoke chose Lommy FlexPad is that it is designed for an environment where conditions are always hospitable. Klaus Kjær Hansen adds: "The device is very reliable and it is made of good strong materials that can withstand the temperature fluctuations that go along with performing winter maintenance. It is battery operated, wireless and robust, and that means that it can be used outside the cab - even at below-zero temperatures or in a snowstorm.
